Interview with Commander Alex Vraciu, a Navy veteran, concerning his experiences as a naval aviator in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Vraciu discusses his assignment to VF-3 as a wingman for "Butch" O'Hare, his assignment to the carrier Essex, the Wake Island raids in 1943, becoming an Ace at Kwajalein in 1944, the Truk raid in 1944, his assignment to Fighter Squadron 16 on the carrier Lexington, the second Truk raid in 1944, the "Great Marianas Turkey Shoot" in 1944, raids on Clark Field in the Philippines, getting shot down on Luzon, and the subsequent operations with Filipino guerrillas. Appendix includes a photocopy of a biographical information sheet on Alex Vraciu.
